(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The world has been in a constant state of change since March. This is especially true for end of course exams (EOC).

Before shifting to e-Learning last year, LRHS freshmen taking Algebra 1 were expected to take an EOC to show they mastered the material.

However, due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the exam was cancelled.

EOC’s are designed to judge the effectiveness of the curriculum and adjust it for future students.

Mustangs can now choose to opt out of the Algebra 1 EOC.

However, sophomores are still required to take the Geometry EOC in order to graduate.

Sophomore Mariah Reichenbach commented, “I chose to opt-out of the Algebra EOC because I feel it would be too difficult to succeed on especially given the  current circumstances and the fact that I am doing e-Learning full time.”
