Mustang cross country ready for first meet

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Mustangs cross-country team will attend the first meet of the season, the North Port XC Invitation, on Saturday.

Varsity cross country runners will run at 7:20 a.m. followed by JV at 8:20 a.m.

There will be 20 elite teams competing at the event, including the LRHS team.

Varsity runner sophomore Tamlyn Leatt said, “I am so excited to be competing with my teammates again as I was not sure I would get the chance. I have already run this course and am confident I can do well on it.”

Following the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, all non-runners attending the meet must wear masks.

In addition, there will be no awards ceremony this year and athletes are required to leave as soon as they complete their events.
