(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Due to COVID-19, there are many new safety precautions in place this year at LRHS.

With the new rules, this week Mustangs were asked, “What are the best and worst things about the first week of school?”

Senior Elizabeth Rutland said, “Everything feels so different this year compared to last year. This year I am doing hybrid so I can see my teachers and fellow classmates but also manage my time better and limit my exposure.”

Rutland added, “The best part about the first week was getting back into a routine. The worst thing was having to always wear a mask, but I understand we are doing that to keep everyone safe.”

Senior John Schroeder said, “The best part about coming back to school was being able to see all of my friends that I didn’t see over the summer.”

Schroeder continued, “But on the other hand, I have to sit far away from them in classes and in the lunchroom. Plus, all the senior privileges seem to not be happening this year.”

Junior Ben Pruim added, “The best part of school this week was getting to see all my friends and teachers at school that I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to last year. The worst part was having to follow the arrows in one direction around the whole school. That took a lot of time to get used to.”

Sophomore Hayley Pollard shared, “I enjoy being able to have the chance to have time at home for days when I’m not at school, so I have more time for other things as well. The worst part is having to always wear the mask because it can get really hot.”
