(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS senior Christopher Holmes has been awarded the Mathew Carter Scholarship from the Gamma XI Boule Foundation.

This scholarship recognizes graduating seniors from both Manatee and Sarasota counties for their outstanding academic performance and exceptional involvement in their communities.

The foundation will provide Holmes with a total of $16,000 over the course of the next four years while he attends Florida A & M University.

Holmes plans to major in business with the financial support of this program.

Holmes was selected out of the 56 graduating senior applicants from both Sarasota and Manatee county high schools.

After making it past the initial application round, he and 14 other students moved onto personal interviews with the scholarship committee through zoom.
