(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Thursday morning, dozens of parents and Mustangs showed up to cap and gown pickups to celebrate the class of 2020.

May 21 was the official day for senior cap and gown pick-ups, occurring from 8 a.m. – noon.

Mustangs, LRHS faculty, and parents showed up as early as 7 a.m. with signs, posters, and balloons to honor the class of 2020.

Many wanted to ensure that with everything seniors missed out on in these last few months, this made up for in a small way.

Senior Manoela Dos Santos stated, “It was really exciting to drive by and see all of the parents and staff that showed up to the celebrate all of us seniors. It was a special moment that we will all remember.”

Many seniors were incredibly grateful to be able to end their high school experience on such a positive final note.

Senior Chris Georgas said, “What parents and teachers did at the cap and gown pickup really showed me how much they appreciated the senior class and it was one of the most memorable parts of my last year at LRHS.”

LRHS Principal Dustin Dahlquist said, “I have seen many times a teacher go above and beyond for students, but the collective group coming together for the Class of 2020 is inspiring.”
