Class of ’20 looks forward to late graduation

free graduation picture.jpeg(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- As seniors have wrapped up their school year, all that’s left is the graduation ceremony.

The original date for graduation was May 14, 2020, but due to COVID-19, the 2020 graduation ceremony has been moved to 7:00 p. m., July 29 at the Bradenton Convention Center.

Seniors are anxiously awaiting the ceremony so they can have that special moment of walking across the stage and getting their diploma.

Senior Abigail Patterson said, “I cannot wait for graduation; I feel as though I have waited my whole high school career to get my diploma. It’s really weird to be technically done with high school but have to wait so long to get my diploma.”

Senior Olivia Loop agreed with, “It is sad that graduation has been moved to very late July. I just hope that everyone in the class of 2020 will be able to make the ceremony, it would not be the same unless everyone is there, and I know it may be challenging for some students to make it.”

The Bradenton convention center is located at 1 Haben Blvd, Palmetto, FL 34221.
