Peer Tutors awarded scholarships

Peer Tutoring offers Mustangs a chance to help their fellow students.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Winners of the LRHS Peer Tutoring scholarships have been announced.

Recipients of this scholarship are Trevor Clark, Olivia Miller, Ignacio Angel Bataglia, Katherine Hartley, Scott Baker, Jack Wilkinson, Christina Williams, and Samantha Zappala.

Each student will receive $250 from sponsors Mr. and Mrs. DiDomenico from “CoolToday” Air Conditioning.

This scholarship was available to any seniors who participated in Peer Tutoring throughout their high school careers.

Students filled out scholarship applications, including their involvement in Peer Tutoring, grade point average (GPA), community service, where they are going to college/trade school in the fall, what makes them good candidates for the scholarship and teacher recommendations.

Recipients were selected by LRHS teachers Teri Grimes, Nick Savarese, Marissa Naciuk, and Rebekah Lester.  The awards were based on high academic standing, community service, and commitment to Peer Tutoring over the past four years.
