Corinne Kasten – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – With online learning continuing throughout the rest of the school year, LRHS seniors are missing out on milestone moments. However, for some, this missing out doesn’t stop at high school.
Students admitted into their colleges of choice for summer terms will probably start college online. Some see this as an opportunity for a great transition.
Senior Teddy Worthman will be attending the online summer term at Florida State University (FSU).
“I know it will be a great opportunity to transition from high school to college from home,” Worthman said.
Although Worthman feels lucky to have such a unique experience, he commented on how he is “still kind of worried for the workload and lectures.”
Former Mustang and FSU student Carli Kasten believes that online classes can bring more of a challenge to students.
“Online college classes can be a lot harder than in person,” said Kasten. “Most of the lectures in person only provide about 1/3 of the information, but online provides even less.”
Students will also be attending their Fall/Summer orientation via online videos and webinars.
