Eight Mustangs win state’s highest FFA award

ffa logo(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lakewood Ranch FFA is proud to announce that eight Mustangs were awarded their Florida FFA State Degrees.  

The Florida FFA State Degree is an award given to students who put an exceptional amount of time and effort into their Supervised Agricultural Experience Project (SAE) and local chaptersThis is the highest degree they can receive in the state.  

To be eligible for this award, students had to invest a minimum of $1000 or 300 hours into their SEA. They also had to participate in at least five activities outside of the LRHS chapter along with a minimum of 25 hours of community service.  

FFA advisor McKenzie Gorskey said, “We are so extremely excited and proud to share with you the 2019-2020 Lakewood Ranch FFA members who earnetheir Florida FFA State Degree! These members are some of the best in the state of Florida, and we are proud to call them Mustangs!” 

The awarded Mustangs are – Travis Ference, Nathan Sundberg, Britton Ricks, JT Girman, Savannah Cannon, Kendyll Munger, Hailey Mahoney, and Saige Freitag.
