Seniors(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- With the spread of COVID-19, Fla. Gov. Ron Desantis announced that public schools will remain shut for the remainder of the academic year.

LRHS graduation has been reschedule for July 29.

Despite the disruption to their lives, some LRHS seniors are trying to maintain perspective.

Senior Gabbi Tomaselli says, “It is very unfortunate that I am missing out on my senior year. I didn’t have the opportunity to go to prom this year and I don’t know if I am getting a graduation. I miss seeing my friends and teachers every day.”

Senior Hayes DuJardin said it’s not great circumstances but it’s what we need to do. He is glad that we are finally taking action to prevent the spread of the virus.

“I hope I am still able to go to college in the fall,” said Dujardin.

Senior Mason Ingallinera said, “Not being able to have a last day of high school and say goodbye to everyone will be very sad. However, I am thankful that my friends and family are healthy and safe”.
