(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- In these uncertain times, LRHS Mustangs are finding new ways to keep in contact with their friends and have fun while in quarantine.

Finding inspiration from YouTube videos, a group of students decide to recreate album covers of various albums.

Each person chose an album cover with the goal of creating their own version as close to the original as possible. They combined their skills of photography, design, and editing to achieve the final product.

Sophomore Maya Rengifo decided to recreate the album cover Kid Krow by Conan Gray.

Rengifo said, “Boredom is a privilege during this pandemic, we just decided to get creative and do something out of the box with our time.”

Rengifo used photoshop to make the background of her picture be white and edited in the flying crow to make it as close to the original cover as possible.

Senior Nicolette Ngov decided to recreate the album Dictator by Rei Ami.

“This was a unique way to keep us all connected and was a good distraction from all the negatives news that seemed never ending,” said Ngov.

Senior Morgan Deglopper replicated album VHS by X Ambassadors.

Deglopper said, “I really enjoyed doing this as it was a fun way to do something with my friends without breaking social distancing.”

Senior Cameron Willis remade album Sweet Fa by Peach Pit.

“Doing this made it feel like my friends and I were all together again,” said Willis.

This activity even brought students from other schools together. Braden River High School (BRHS) Senior Lauren Whiddon joined in recreating the album covers by recreating Dr. Whoever by Aminé.

Whiddon said, “I thought it was a great way to stay connected to my friends who don’t go to my school. Since we all have similar music taste, it was fun to see everyone’s interpretation. When we see each other again, it would be great to recreate an album with all of us working together.”

During this period of isolation Mustangs must and have found creative ways to interact with their friends. Recreating albums is just one fun way that these Mustangs chose to do so.
