Lindsey Limbach – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Thanks to the Corona virus, the reopening of the LRHS campus has been postponed until April 30. This is causing Mustangs to not only miss school physically but also emotionally.
Junior Jenelle Bayor said, “I miss being able to have that face-to-face learning experience with other people. With this online learning situation, I can talk to other people on the phone to collaborate on assignments, but it isn’t the same thing as being there in person. I also miss being able to meet up with my friends in the morning before school and listening to music.”
The online learning situation is a shift from what Mustangs are used to, but it provides an alternative so they can continue to learn and keep up with their assignments.
Junior Marissa Briggs said, “I miss having classes with my friends, and I miss being able to participate in my club. There are so many extra-curricular activities that go through the school, and not being able to participate in them is starting to throw off my high school experience.”
Both Briggs and Bayor said the especially miss the memories they could have been making during this time if school wasn’t closed.
