Key Club sees value in “Market”

key club logo(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Over the past school year, LRHS Key Club members volunteered weekly with Lakewood Ranch’s farmers market, The Market. The Market runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, right across from Main Street.

Key Club works to tally the number of people attending the Market and man the information tent where they inform visitors of things like the punch-card rewards program. When visitors have filled up their punch cards by purchasing items at different vendors, they can exchange it for a gift such as a mug, cutting board, metal straw, or reusable bag.

The Market has over 50 vendors with products ranging from fresh produce, seafood, flower arrangements, jewelry, baked goods, and delicious prepared foods.

There are also other attractions offered by the Market such as cooking demonstrations, morning yoga starting at 10:30 a.m. provided by the Yoga Shack, live music, and a dog friendly environment.

“Volunteering at the Market has been one of my favorite events offered through Key Club. The Market has a very chill atmosphere and it is really nice seeing how the community comes together for this event. I definitely will be volunteering here more and would recommend checking it out if you haven’t already,” said senior Kaylee Eckelman.
