free baseball pix.jpeg(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The baseball season is well on its way. Every week, the team is getting closer and closer to the final game for their seniors. Senior year is emotional for everyone and now the seniors on the baseball team will have another “last.”

There are 11 senior Mustangs on this year’s team.

Richie Morales is an infielder and a pitcher for the LRHS team. He signed to Florida State University (FSU) in the fall where he will further his baseball and academic career. His motto for the season is, “Keep it simple.”

Nolan Laurvick is a second baseman and a pitcher on the team. He was recently accepted into FSU.

Taylor Steir is a pitcher and designated hitter. Steir will attend University of South Florida (USF) next year where he will continue his academic career.

When asked what advice he would give to underclassmen he said, “Make sure to keep your mind clear.”

Mustang infielder Chase Yniguez will attend FSU next year.

Colin Apgar is an outfielder and a pitcher for the team. In the fall, he signed to FSU where he will play baseball at the next level while furthering his academic career.

Tyler Aberg is an outfielder for the team.

Aberg said, “All the seniors have agreed on going out strong this year. For a lot of us, it will be our last baseball season, so we want to make it special.”

Zack Weston, an infielder on the team, was recently accepted into FSU.

Noe Antuna, the starting catcher for the LRHS baseball team, will attend Tallahassee Community College next year.

Antuna said, “Baseball is just fun to play with all my friends. I hope my last season of high school baseball is a good one.”

The other seniors on the team are Patrick Brown, a first baseman/pitcher; Jaden Jones, an outfielder; and Nico Hadid, an infielder for the team.

Saying goodbye to baseball will be emotional for a lot of these seniors. They all seem to agree that they will leave it all on the field this year.
