(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) The LRHS Student Government Association (SGA), will host their annual dodgeball tournament.
The tournament will take place on Wednesday, March 11 at 6 p.m. in the LRHS gymnasium. Students will create teams and play against their peers as well as their teachers to see who will win.
“For the past few weeks, I have been going down to lunches to pass out forms and encourage my classmates to sign up. I am excited for the actual event and love the preparation leading up to it,” said SGA member Mackenzie Hopkins, junior.
The event costs $5 admission fee per student, and $5 for everyone participating in the game.
All the proceeds from the tournament will be given to the Feeding Empty Little Tummies (FELT) organization. This nonprofit, sponsored by the Manatee County School District, gives food to homeless children to take home on the weekends.
“I have been looking forward to this event all year because it was my favorite event when I was in SGA at LRHS”, said advisor and former SGA student, Delaney Riggins.
So far, SGA has created its own team, along with a teacher team and the Mustang Stampede team.
