Cameron Perry– Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Last week was a big week for LRHS varsity girls lacrosse team, as they played and won all three of their games.
On Monday March 2, the Mustangs played Cypress Creek in an away game and took home the 16-8 win.
The top scorer and star player of the game was freshman Jaelyn Broske, who scored seven goals against the Coyotes.
Then on Wednesday, March 4, the Mustangs played their second district game against Durant and won 14-3. Junior Vanessa Garcia scored two goals this game, making her player of the game.
“The game against Durant was great! We had a good chance to work on team chemistry. We were able to make great connections and had great field work,” said senior captain Brooke Roberts.
Lastly on Friday, March 6, the Mustangs played an away game against Bloomingdale, and beat them 17-6.
Leading the Mustangs, junior captain Jessie Carff was the top scorer of the game, with four goals.
Currently, they are first in their district with an overall record of 6-2 and a district record of 3-0.
The Mustangs will be back in action at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, on their home field against St. Pete Catholic.
