features icon(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Many Mustangs are reflecting on the first semester, celebrating their successes and making new goals for the upcoming semester.

One of these Mustangs is sophomore Hannah Loefgren, “I wanted to end the first semester with all of my grades at least being Bs and now I have made it my goal to have all As.”

Sophomore Hayden Johnston also had goals for the first semester.

“I wanted to maintain at least a B in chemistry, and I ended up doing just that. Now I want to try to end the second semester with an A,” said Johnston.

Not all these semester goals are related to academic initiatives. Sophomore Nick Martin joined LRHS’s Key Club first semester and wanted to fulfill a person goal of at least 15 hours.

Martin said, “I was just short of 15 hours last semester and I want to make up for it and get 30 or 35 total hours by the end of this new semester.”

Sophomore Nathaniel Garcia made a goal to improve his 100-meter dash time for LRHS’s Track and Field team. Last year Garcia could manage the 100-meter dash in about 14 seconds, and this year Garcia said that his record is 12.87 seconds. He added that he wants to continue improving his speed and at the very least maintain a sub-13 second time.
