LRHS girls lacrosse is enjoying newfound success this season.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Thursday March 27, the LRHS girls’ varsity lacrosse team beat their rivals, the Manatee Hurricanes 14-10 at Manatee High School.

Mustang captain senior Alyssa Bradford was the top scorer of the game with seven goals. Behind her senior Taylor Snyder and junior Jessie Carff both scored two.

Junior Meghan Llamas said, “This win was so special to us because it was the first time we’ve ever beat them. We all really came together as a team and worked hard.”

Junior varsity (JV) also played against Cardinal Mooney High School. The Mustangs lost 14-4.

Sophomore Brianne Miller said, “Even though we lost, we learned a lot where we needed to improve and what we need to work on in practice. We’re all excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us!”

Varsity will play their next home game at five p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, against Durant High School.
