(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Camerata Orchestra dominated at the Florida Orchestra Association (FOA) District 11 Concert Music Performance Assessment (MPA) on Feb. 20 at Braden River High School (BRHS).

The honors ensemble earned Superior ratings for their stage performance, sight reading performance and student conducting performance. They qualified to perform again at FOA State MPA in April.

The LRHS Camerata performed the most challenging and advanced repertoire out of any ensemble from both Manatee and Sarasota Counties. They were the only ensemble in the performance district to perform as FOA Class B or higher.

“We have a tradition of excellence here with our orchestra students,” said LRHS orchestra teacher Daniel Shafer. “Last night MPA was a great reflection of all the hard work we’ve put into our repertoire so far this semester.”
