LRHS girls lacrosse season is underway.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS girls’ varsity lacrosse team has officially begun their season with a home field win against the Sarasota Sailors.

Going home with a score of 17-5, the girls reflected on the intense night.

“Yeah it was great to be back on the field! We did really good, but definitely have a lot to work on,” said junior Erika Lyvers.

The girls team is preparing to keep the same energy for their next game, which is at home against St Stephens Episcopal School.

Lyers added, “Last night was a great way to start off the season and now I just can’t wait for tonight!”

Playing right after the varsity team, the girls’ Junior Varsity (jv) lacrosse team will play their second game of the season against Berkeley Prep at 7 p.m. on Feb. 21.

The boys’ varsity lacrosse also played their first game at Plant High School against the Plant Panthers, losing 7-17.
