The team will now play Boone High School in the state semi-final. If the Mustangs win, they will be in the final and will have a chance to claim their first ever state championship.

The Mustangs are 19-1-5 and looking to get their 20th win 5 p.m. Saturday at Boone. The Mustangs have won regionals two years in a row and have made the state final four for the second straight year.

In the team’s win Wednesday night, the goal scorers were senior Jacob Jordan and junior Timothy Sheredy. Jordan has 19 goals this season and Sheredy has 10 goals. Both will be looking to increase their tally of goals in the upcoming match.

“The game went very well last night. Defense was strong and kept a clean sheet and the forwards were able to score two,” said Jordan. “We don’t know much about the team we play on Saturday but hopefully we’ll continue to win.”
