Gavin Laielli – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – This upcoming weekend marks the first varsity track and field meet for the 2019-2020 season.
On Saturday, Feb. 15 will be a regional wide meet containing up to 24 teams from all over the state. The LRHS varsity team has been preparing for the start of the season since December and is hoping to see their hard work pay off.
English teacher and distance coach Kristin Wikstrom said, “It will be important for us to get a baseline of where we are as individuals and as a team so we can better set and reach our goals for the season.”
Junior distance runner Riley Bradshaw said, “I am really excited for this upcoming season. I’m ready to go in with an open mind and hopefully start to see my training further improve.”
The meet is an all-day event which begins with the 3200m race at 8 a.m. and ending with the 4x400m relay in the late afternoon.
