Jenna Hernandez- Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Key Club will sell candy and flowers to students to send to those they care for.
The club will be selling carnations and candygrams during all lunches in the cafeteria starting Monday, Feb. 7 and lasting through Feb 14. The club will personally deliver these valentines to students during their third periods on Feb. 14.
Students have three choices to send to someone. They can send a carnation flower for $1, a candygram for $2, or a flower and candygram for $3.
Club Treasurer Stacey Balloch said, “All proceeds will be going to the LRHS Key Club to help us pay for attending our annual district conference in Orlando. Proceeds will also go towards putting together our end of the year banquet to honor members on the hard work they put in to better the community and congratulate next year’s officers.”
Vice President Isabella Liberti said, “The Key Club District Conference is important as it is a chance for our club to receive awards, present service project, and vote for our state key club officers. This fundraiser is important to Key Club as it will help us fund this trip.”
Students who are interested in buying valentines or wanting to support LRHS’ Key Club are encouraged to stop by the Key Club table during the week at the cafeteria.
Mustangs who want more information on the fundraiser or are interested in joining Key Club can attend one of the meetings, scheduled for every other Tuesday in room 509. Students can also visit the LRHS Key Club website or contact Key Club Class Director Faith Kylie Kurtz.
