free basketball pix(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Mustang boys basketball team plays their district semifinal 7 p.m. tonight against the Newsome Wolves. The Mustangs secured a bye in the first round of the playoffs because they were the highest-ranked team.

The team under Coach Jeremy Schiller is currently going 17-6 this year.

“I think it’s nice to have a good basketball team for the school spirit and to make the school look good,” said Junior Nick Sharkoski.

Sophomore junior varsity (JV) basketball player Seth Szalkay said, “I respect all those on varsity and can’t wait to see them win this game.”

The Mustangs have secured the number one seed in the 2020 Boys Basketball District Championship. With a win in this game, the mustangs will either face Hillsborough Riverview or Sarasota Riverview in the championship on Feb. 14.
