The team did not know if they were going to make it through until they were told by coach Vito Bavaro on Sunday.

The team has a current record of 16-1-5 and are looking to get their winning streak back after getting a second chance in the state playoffs.

Under Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) rules the Mustangs qualified for the tournament as an at-large team.

The Mustangs play West Orange High School away on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

West Orange High School is currently ranked 84th in the nation and 34th in the state of Florida. Their overall record is 11-1-3. This game will be a close matchup, but the Mustangs believe they can pull through.

LRHS senior Captain Jacob Jordan has scored 18 goals so far as the team’s top scorer. Jordan believes that the team can make up for districts by winning regionals.

“The team is ready for our first regional game tomorrow and will try to make use of our second chance,” said Jordan.
