Seniors ready for highs, lows of final months

Prom, graduation, and senior privileges are all approaching but it also adds stress for many seniors.

Senior privileges allow seniors to finish the year in the beginning, rather than the end, of May.

Seniors who finished with an 80% or higher in a class, in both quarters three and four, may also be exempted from having to take a final exam for that class.

Senior Abbey Patterson says, “The senior privilege of not having to take final exams and getting out of school early is really exciting but it also puts a lot of pressure on me as a student and trying to finish with good grades.”

Senior Hayden Springer states “I’m really excited for my senior prom, but I know that it is going to be really expensive between the dress, ticket, and especially finding the date. I’m also nervous for graduation coming up, I still have several Florida Virtual School (FLVS) courses to finish and time is running out.”

Senior year is also the last year for seniors to be a part of LRHS as mustangs.

Senior Olivia Loop exclaims, “2020 is the last year I will be at LRHS. I will never have another prom; I won’t see all my friends every day at school, and I won’t be a part of the sporting events. It is exciting to graduate but it is also sad to leave the high school I created so many memories in.”
