Blood drives are a successful LRHS tradition.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Last week LRHS’s third blood drive of the year was a success.

Blood drive committee adviser and keyboard teacher Rebekah Lester said, “A total of 67 people donated blood, this will save 201 lives!”

Lester continued to praise the students who donated.

“It is amazing,” Lester continued.  “Every two seconds, someone needs blood. The blood donated at our high school drive will likely be transfused into a patient within 48 to 72 hours. The turnaround is that fast, the need is constant.”

Junior Lindsey Limbach valued the time she spent giving blood.

“Giving blood was such a fun experience because I got to know that I was helping someone. It is important to give back to your community and do what you can to help others. I would recommend everyone that can give blood to do it,” said Limbach.

The school year’s last blood drive is scheduled Thursday, April 2, 2020. Mustangs with any questions about the blood drive, can contact Lester in room 517.
