The Mustangs played their district final Thursday away against Hillsborough Newsome High School. The girls fought hard until the last second of the high intensity game, but lost 3-1.

“We played with our hearts last night and gave it our all. I’m so proud of us for scoring that goal in the second half even though we were down. The result may not be what we wanted but it gave us motivation for regionals, and we hope to see them again in this tournament,” said senior Heather Jones.

The team won their district semi-final 3-0 Tuesday at home against Durant High School.

The Mustangs will carry on playing in the regional tournament starting the week of Feb. 10-14.  The teams record is now 13-4-2 and is ranked 27th in the state.
