Students for Safety seeks adviser

Marissa Briggs – Mustangs Ahead

student for safety logo(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS teacher Kathleen Soles left LRHS to move to Colorado with the end of the first semester. She was more than just a classroom teacher.  She also served as adviser for LRHS clubs Students for Safety, among Girl Up and UNICEF.

Girl Up and UNICEF both have new teacher advisers.

Students for Safety is in search of a new teacher adviser. They meet every other Friday morning at 7 a.m. They host fundraisers every few months, in hopes of raising money to install safety features to help school safety.

Co-president Ella Botko is eager to find a new teacher adviser. “Since we need a teacher in the middle of the year a lot of teachers are hesitant to take us. LRHS also already has a large amount of clubs so it’s hard to find a teacher willing.”

The teacher adviser would offer their classroom to host club meetings in their room, as well as sign paperwork involving fundraisers.

Anyone interested in filling this position can email, or visit their Instagram @lrhsstudentsforsafety.
