In a MaxPreps preseason interview, head coach T.J. Goelz commented on the strengths of the team, “Experience. Talent. Power. Pitching. Defense. Speed.”

The team returns 8 of 9 starters from last year’s team that was ranked #1 in the country by Maxpreps and multiple publications for most of the year. That team won 30 straight games before losing in the state final game.

Coach TJ has high expectations for this year’s team, “The team will have power 1 thru 9 in the lineup with the potential of multiple players having double digit homeruns.  All 4 Division 1 signee pitchers will return including the state Pitcher of the Year.”

The Mustangs softball team will have their first official game of the season Wednesday, Feb. 19, at home against Charlotte High School.

The junior varsity (JV) team will begin at 4:45 p.m. with varsity following at 7 p.m.
