(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- This weekend the LRHS Mustang Robotics 6743a team traveled to North Port High School for a Vex Robotics Competition. The team left with the Robot Skills Championship and Judges Award trophies, and qualified to participate in the state competition in February.

After the competition the team’s rank was updated to sixth in the North/Central Florida region.

Senior Ryan Hillock said, “We’ve been very successful this year and are excited to move forward and improve before competing at the state competition.

Another team member, sophomore Zachar Gieger said, “We hope to do well at the state competition so that we can qualify for the world competition in April.”

In the upcoming weeks robotics team members will continue to work on their robot in hopes to secure a win at the upcoming Technology Student Association (TSA) state conference in Orlando.
