free soccer picture.jpeg(LAKEWWOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS girls varsity soccer team wrapped up their regular season last week and is heading into districts strong.

The team finished 12-3-2 and is now ranked 25th in the state of Florida, and second in the district.

They will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at home against the winner of Durant vs. Riverview. If the team wins, they will move on and play Newsome at 7 p.m. on Jan. 30, at the highest seed’s home field.

Senior Heather Jones said, “I’m very excited to see how playoffs go. We’ve worked very hard and have a decent shot this year. If everyone does their part and we work together, I don’t see us losing anytime soon.”

In the past years, the team has won multiple district titles and has a strong reputation. However, this year the team is now in division 7a instead of division 5a, which means bigger and better opponents.

“It should be good competition, we’re going to have to work hard and want but it’s doable for sure,” commented junior Jordan Golden.
