Lindsey Limbach – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Friday morning, senior Mustangs were called to the auditorium for a class meeting.
Senior Allysan Decker said, “This meeting made me feel really weird because it doesn’t feel like I only have four months left. It’s nerve-wracking to think about because this meeting was a reality check. This is it, high school is over just like that.”
Senior, Joe Perri said, “The meeting was about graduating, caps and gowns, and senior fees.”
Senior fees are a one-time payment and are not a debt unless they aren’t paid. They’re used for diplomas, programs, class gift, etc. The payment dates are Jan. 1-April 3 for $30, April 4-May 1 for $40, and May 2-Graduation for $50.
Seniors were told that they will get four tickets to graduation per student and extra tickets are not available at this time.
Cap and gown pick-up is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12 from 2:45 – 4 p.m. in the LRHS cafeteria. In order to receive the cap and gown, the pink paper given by the bookkeeper needs to be brought. Seniors can order their cap and gown online.
Graduation practice is on Wednesday, May 13 at 8 a.m.. It will take place at the Bradenton Convention Center and the seniors will need to be in school dress code. Seniors were told that this is a mandatory practice.
Graduation will take place the same day as the practice at 7 p.m.
At the meeting seniors were also told the appropriate dress code for graduation. The girls are expected to wear dark-colored dresses or pants with black shoes. However, the top 10% female mustangs can wear that, or light-colored dresses with silver shoes.
The boys are expected to wear dark ties with white or black collared dress shirts. They are also expected to wear black shoes, black socks, and black dress pants.
