The meet included six rounds, but the Mustangs got a first round bye. In the second round, the Mustangs wrestled against Mulberry High School and won 71-9.

In the third round, the Mustangs played the host team, George Jenkins, and beat them 61-15. In the fourth round, the Mustangs played Kathleen High School and were victorious 69-12.

In the fifth round, the Mustangs played Carrollwood Day High School and won with a score of 66-9. In the final round, the team claimed their undefeated streak in the tournament by beating Auburndale High School 78-6.

Aiden Zimmerman, Jamal Aoudi, Angelo LaFrese, Ranson Coons, Cam Schilson, Andrew Henry, Antonio Beltramea, and Travis Ference were undefeated during the tournament.

Schilson is very confident for the rest of the season.

“The George Jenkins tournament opened our eyes and showed us how dominant we are and can be as a team if all the pieces of the puzzle come together,” said Schilson.

Aoudi also has high standards for the rest of the season.

“As individuals and as a team we wrestled pretty well,” Aoudi said. “We are very accomplished and take pride in all the work we put in the wrestling room, but we have so much more to prove and it’s only going to get better from here.”
