Charlize Ucciferri – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On Thursday, Jan. 9, the LRHS varsity cheerleading team went head to head with the Calvary Christian cheerleading squad at Lakewood Ranch Cheerleading. The two teams performed their routines for one another to receive suggestions of improvement from the coaches.

LRHS varsity cheerleading coach Kiana Kowalewski said, “I think we did very well, considering we had a long break off.”

LRHS senior varsity captain Briana Pierson said, “Our performance on that day was the best it has ever been, and I hope the team will keep improving until the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) states.”

The Calvary Christian Warriors performed an amazing routine as well as the LRHS squad. “Calvary did amazing and impressed me each time they performed their routine,” said Kowalewski.

“To improve before the competition, I plan on fixing the small parts of the routine like timing and spacing”, she added.

LRHS junior and co-captain Madison Kahler said, “I am very excited to see how we improve during our last few practices before the season ends.”

The cheerleading team competes next at FHSAA regionals at Plant City High School.
