(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)  – Mustangs are very fortunate  to hae the custodians that keep the LRHS campus clean and organized.

There are 13 members of the LRHS custodial staff.

Plant Manager Sergio Rubio III stated that an average day starts when they open the campus at 5:30 a.m. and set up cones in the parent drop off area.

“Then we head out and do trash pick-up around the entire campus. By then, everyone is showing up,” said Rubio. “Then we go through our email and start with air conditioning issues and restroom issues as well. I have a list of things to do that I keep on myself.”

These custodians help maintain our campus from 5:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

Beyond the day to day tasks, the custodians also may experience some strange or miscellaneous jobs.

“One day I got a radio call stating that we had a baby calf from the agriculture barn on Lakewood Ranch Blvd,” said Rubio. “Thanks to the custodians up at Manatee Technical College, we were able to retrieve our calf and get him to his correct area.”

Whether tending to the daily tasks as LRHS or handling some strange situations, our custodian’s work helps to keep LRHS both a beautiful and functional campus. Their work is overall very much appreciated by all the students and faculty members.
