ffa logo(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS FFA program is now preparing for the annul Manatee County Fair, which is set to open on Jan. 16 at the Palmetto fair grounds.

FFA is having a mandatory meeting on Thursday, Jan. 9, and is asking for members to volunteer to set up the dairy pens at 8 a.m. on Jan. 11.

To prepare for this event, FFA members must grow and raise the plants and animals of their choice all year long. The animal choices range from rabbits to even cows.

LRHS FFA members who have participated in the past hope to improve their ability of showmanship throughout the year in hopes to take home a first place.

Sophomore Summer Sanford said, “My favorite part about the fair is seeing the community enjoy my rabbits as much as I do.”

Summer added, “I am most looking forward to be a part of the fair for another year. I am also looking forward to the food.”
