clubs(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Monday, Dec. 9, the fourth LRHS Unified meeting was held to discuss the layout of the unified track team and the upcoming Christmas breakfast.

The Unified club is a Special Olympics club for all students. Its purpose is to introduce students to the Special Olympics and let them experience the fun of all-inclusive sports.

The unified track team will include at least 12 athletes, with an equal number of athletes with and without an intellectual disability.

There are six track events: 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, 4 by 100 relay, and 4 by 400 relay.

There are also two field events, which are the shotput and long jump. Each athlete can choose one track event and one field event to compete.

The unified track team will begin after break and a sign-up sheet with be in room 563.
