(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys soccer team has opened the season ranked 26th in the latest national rankings on MaxPreps, while ranking sixth in their classification.

This will be the sixth out of the last seven seasons that the team has been nationally ranked. This year however is a little bit different; the boys are ranked earlier than before and is one of only two Florida teams ranked nationally.

Head Coach Vito Bavaro finds this early high unique and a great motivation for the season.

“This year the team is excited to perform highly, and we look to improve our ranking as the year goes, there is great talent and we have the experience to play at or even higher than where we are ranked currently” said Bavaro.

With the recognition, the boys’ soccer program will host their fourth annual alumni game vs. Braden River High School.

“The alumni game is important and will be a lot of fun and creates a meaningful impact on the community while keeping the alumni community engaged,” said Bavaro.

The alumni game is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m.
