mustangs react(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Winter sports have started and one of the most successful Mustang teams is boys soccer, who have won seven straight district titles.  This week we asked students that play on the LRHS soccer team “What are you looking forward to this season?”

Varsity player senior Najji Greene stated, “I am excited to participate in districts this year and have fun with my teammates.”

Varsity player senior Joshua Klein said, “I am looking forward to a successful season, playing alongside my friends one last time and winning districts, keeping our streak alive!”

Varsity player senior Jacob Jordan said, “I’m most excited to spend time with all of my teammates and getting to know them better. I’m hoping to get as far as possible in states this year as well.”

Junior Reid Zimmerman, who is on varsity, agreed with Jordan.

“I am looking forward to winning games and playing with all of my teammates,” said Zimmerman.

JV player freshman Christian Hernandez stated, “I’m excited for the Ramble Cup this year. The Ramble Cup is a tournament that we play every year. I’m looking forward to getting to know all my teammates and scoring goals.”

“I am hoping to get some wins this year and play well with all my new teammates,” said JV player sophomore Anteneh Zewdie.

“I am hoping we win our ninth district title this season, I hope we can rebuild our new team after losing some of our strongest players who were seniors last year,” said varsity player Senior Cade Schwartz. “I also am excited to be able to play with all my friends who I have started my soccer team with and end with them too.”
