Marissa Briggs-Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS band program held a concert on Wednesday, Nov. 13, to showcase the hard work they’ve been putting into their music pieces.
Two bands performed that evening, Wind Ensemble, which is a higher-level band, and Symphonic band, a lower level band. Each band played an assortment consisting of three pieces they have been working on in class since the start of school.
Senior TJ Patten thought the performance went very well even though they have been focusing on the Marching Mustangs show music in most band classes.
“I thought the wind ensemble performance went very well, especially considering how busy we are with marching band music and semifinals coming up,” Patten explained.
Junior Emma Tullio was excited to showcase all the bands hard work.
“In marching band, we have a competition nearly every weekend starting in October, so we get to put our show on display all the time, with each time everyone seeing the progress we’ve made and how we’ve gotten better. We don’t get that for our Wind Ensemble class, so I am very happy with how well our performance went. We definitely projected that we have been putting forth our best effort into the music,” said Tullio.
“It went well. All the bands have been preparing for it, along with preparing for finals for the marching band,” explained junior Sophie Botko.
The Marching Mustangs will have their state semifinals competition Saturday, Nov. 23 in Orlando, FL.
