Gavin Laielli – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Every quarter, LRHS teachers and staff members
nominate students to undergo a chance to be chosen for Mustang of the Quarter.
This past quarter, freshman Madelyn Hotaling as well as seniors T.J. Patten and Audrey Dixon have been nominated and recognized for their exceptional behavior and being role models.
Mustang of the Quarter recognizes outstanding students in academics and citizenship for going above and beyond.
Patten said, “I was originally surprised that I had won, but I have always tried my best in school and always try to be nice to those around me.“
Patten’s advises underclassmen to stay out of trouble and know right from wrong if they wish to be Mustang of the Quarter.
Freshman Madelyn Hotaling said, “My recommendation to students who are looking to succeed and achieve great things would be to pay attention in class and stay organized. Receiving this motivates me to try harder in the future and push myself to my academic limit.”
LRHS Discipline Dean Thomas Bellantonio said, “I believe Mustang of the quarter is a great way to get students to follow guidelines, while also providing an incentive to motivate students to try their hardest in school.”
In order to receive Mustang of the Quarter, a teacher or staff member must nominate a student for doing good deeds around campus such as picking up after others or being respectful.
The prizes consist of an LRHS sweatshirt, a WaWa mug and several gift cards.
Mustang of the Quarter will next be released in December.
