Mustangs ready to “showcase” programs

Showcase-of-Schools(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The School District of Manatee County will be hosting an event called Showcase of Schools from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Bradenton Area Convention Center. This event is being hosted to promote the traditional public schools in the area.

Parents have been invited to attend the event and there is no RSVP required. LRHS will be represented by principal Dustin Dalhquist and assistant principal Jeannie Galindo.

Galindo said the showcase is a chance to highlight some of the school’s upcoming programs.

“We want to let people know about our new AP Capstone program,” Galindo said. “We have so many AP students here that we wanted to give them an opportunity to receive that program’s highest recognition.”

Galindo continued by saying that the showcase is also a chance to preview the school’s new Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) Academy to the public.

Schools at the event  will highlight different curriculums, programs, food and nutrition, transportation, services, clubs, and much more valuable information. Programs such as Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Dual Enrollment, as well as many others will be discussed.

School officials say attending this event can be a good opportunity to speak to the principals and other important staff members of the different elementary, middle, and high schools.

Parents will not be able to enroll their children in school choice at this event but there will be an online enrollment form for the 2020-2021 school year is scheduled to be available Dec. 2- 31.
