Daniel Hernandez – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Today marks the beginning of the Mayors’ Feed the Hungry canned food drive. Canned goods will be collected from Nov. 12-21 in Mustangs’ first period classes.
The classroom that collects the most canned goods will be awarded with a doughnut party from the food drive sponsor Quill and Scroll.
If every first period class contributes, Mustangs can collect over 5,000 food items to donate to those who are less fortunate. Every classroom will have a box to put food items in starting this Friday.
If your cans will be boxed, make sure to place your name and number of items on the outside of the box and deliver it to Candice Delazzer in room 541.
Math teacher Meghan Sugalski is contributing in this year’s canned food drive.
“I think it’s very important that we do the canned food drive because it helps others in need, and it gives our school the chance to give out our kindness,” Sugalski said. “Every Friday, the food items will be delivered to families around the county.”
Mustangs are highly encouraged to bring in canned food items into their first periods. For any questions regarding the canned food drive see Delazzer in room 541.
