(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Varsity Football team ended their season with a win. Their last game was against Seminole High School last Friday, Nov. 1st where the Mustangs won 21-13.

The game was monumental as it would be the last time many seniors would ever set foot on the field again as a player. At the end of the game, every senior was thankful for the game of football and what it did for them.

Unfortunately, the Mustangs will not be going to the playoffs this season.

Defense Coach Cody Montgomery said the goal for next year is to make it into the playoffs to get some extra games.

“I am very honored to have had the opportunity to be around these young men and not only see them become better players, but better people.”, said Montgomery.

The Mustangs winning season was celebrated all around the Ranch with support from students, teachers, and staff.

Cheerleader junior Kalyssa Kuhling said “It was nice to cheer for a winning team and seeing the lively crowd as we played many hard-won football games. Overall it was great to see us be the great team we are.”
