(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Student Government Association (SGA) hosted its annual “Halloweenie” roast Thursday during lunch for the school’s staff and teachers. The lunch included food catered from Bob Evans and Der Dutchman, as well as hotdogs and bratwursts cooked by SGA members.

The lunch featured a variety of guessing games for staff, and winners were given candy prizes.

The winner of the pumpkin weight guessing games was teacher assistant Roosevelt Atkins and the winner for the candy corn guessing game was baseball coach Brett Holte.

Junior members of SGA began setting up the event at 7:30 a.m. Thursday and members decorated the school dance room with Halloween decorations.

Juniors were excused for the school day to host the event for staff. The event concluded at 12:45 p.m. and members finished cleaning up around 1:30 p.m.

Senior members of SGA assisted with serving lunches and hosting games during fourth period.

Junior Ethan Spasciani said, “It was a great experience cooking for the staff. I love being able to give back to those who help teach me every day.” Spasciani helped grill hot dogs and bratwurst for the teachers.

SGA advisor Delaney Riggins said, “The halloweenie roast has been a tradition at the school since its opening and has always been an event that staff members look forward to. Overall, it was a great success.”
