(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Last Tuesday the LRHS Silver Stars dance team greeted soldiers returning to St. Petersburg from a trip to Washington D.C to visit the World War II memorial.

The dancers thanked them for their service by making signs, shaking their hands, and giving them hugs.

Dance team captain senior Brooke Martin said, “It was amazing doing this, seeing the veterans so happy was really rewarding and it was an honor to thank them for their service.”

The whole team sent cards to the solders in advanced. Some of the soldier’s recognized the team from the card and were thrilled to see them.

Co. Captain senior Madison Cartano said, “One of the mom’s encouraged us to do this and thought it would be a good way to give back to our country and thank the veterans.”
