clubs(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On Wednesday, Oct. 16, the third LRHS Unified Club meeting was held to discuss the new Leadership Team and to sign up for events.

The new Unified Leadership Team was selected and announced at the meeting. These are the people members can go to if they have any question concerning the club.

The Unified club is a Special Olympics club for all students. Its purpose is to introduce students to the Special Olympics and let them experience the fun of all-inclusive sports.

The new Unified Leadership team members are senior Brooke Roberts, sophomore Cameron Perry, sophomore Campbell Laurvick, sophomore Charlize Ucciferri, sophomore Alyssa Ucciferri, and junior Jessie Carff.

“I am very glad to be on the Leadership Team, as I see this club only getting bigger. I’m excited to promote the club and participate in future events,” said Ucciferri.

The upcoming events that members can sign up for include monthly dances, bowling, and helping with a basketball team. To sign up for these events you can visit room 563 where all the signup sheets are hung.

Once you have participated at a volunteer event you will receive a shirt, donated to the club by the Special Olympics.

On Oct. 23, they will be wearing orange in support of PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. They will also have a table at lunch on Oct. 23 with more information.
