(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Many LRHS Mustangs study a foreign language. For freshman Niccolo Lorenzetti, however, languages are part of his daily life. He is fluent in five languages, English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Catalan.

Lorenzetti moved to the United States from Barcelona, Spain only a couple of months ago. He said his language skills have helped him make new friends, “It’s helped with both making friends, and easily communicating with other people.”

According to Lorenzetti, the environment at LRHS was a big change from what he was used to. In Spain, high school students only have one class instead of seven, and there are no extracurricular activities.

Unlike his old school, LRHS offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Lorenzetti said he is looking forward to joining some clubs and taking some courses that in Spain he couldn’t do.

Lorenzetti was pleased to find out that LRHS offered a new community of people unlike anything that he had ever experienced in his home country.

“My old school was incredibly small compared to this one, so it was kind of a weird sensation. But I adjusted very easily, it’s very welcoming,” said Lorenzetti.
