(Lakewood Ranch, FL)- LRHS junior Varsity football went up against North Port High School for their last game of the season. Thursday night’s game gave LRHS a rocky end to their season, losing 27-7.

“It was a tough loss; it was good to see the boys improve since the first game on both offense and defensive sides,” said head coach Alex Michaud.

Freshman John Sirignano said, “It was an honor playing with the sophomores and learning different plays and leadership skills from the upper classmen players.”

Sophomore Elijah Stobaugh said, “Going into next season, freshman and sophomores need to dedicate themselves to getting bigger, stronger and getting into the mindset of tackling the other team.”

Sophomore John Anuszewski said he’s looking forward to next season.

“I hope to grow next season by simply getting better at my positions and possibly other positions. I also want to push myself more in the games and being able to learn more plays,” he said.

Mustangs football plans to kick off their off-season training after spring break, in preparation for the next fall season.
